May the Farce be with you
oh, you're not trying to make sense
cars make hobos disappear? right
that sounds good. it's still a waste of an existing carless, central, public space and waste of funds.
stupid, what a waste. this will not "revitalize" this will squander an opportunity to provide pleasant, pedestrian, patio, public space for new businesses and WASTE MONEY THE CITY DOES NOT HAVE.
current city leaders have no confidence in central Sacramento as a "destination" unless it's to get wasted and suck up as much legal/expensive drug as possible.
Play Al Green instead of gangsta rap. There's the real deal and there's the racket where big playas laugh all the way to bank with profits from their videos that perpetuate stereotypes and hatred. We love you Rhonda. Peace to you and these families.
good piece, LF, you earned your keep ;)
Good points, Casey. Although it speaks for itself. "Terry McMillan’s conversation with Mary Mackey at California Lectures last Thursday evening got off to a rocky start. She pleaded being post-menopausal when she couldn’t remember where she last left her characters from “Waiting to Exhale.”"
wow, Bill. maybe COMMENT REMOVED BY USER pointed out the double standard here... your opener is awful.
Speaking of obfuscation: "... when the previous city manager got fed up with the City Council and quit just a year ago ..." This Opinion Piece, titled "What Really Happened ... " by the Executive Editor of SacPress, bears a certain weight and authority. Yet, it glosses over "what really happened" with Kerridge and Thomas' departure. (Including that Vina's first act as city manager was firing Thomas (on leave under investigation)). "Why the (journalistic) maneuvers to avoid public discussion of this important (quitting during scandal/investigations)? Why the secrecy? Who is hiding what?"
Wow. You can't make this stuff up. But someone did. "Heels" "Pumps"? How many of the young participants will "man up" and wear the stilettos many young women wear day and night (even to the Capitol) especially to Zocalo. (Moncada is also comparing it to "game day" -- is there a need for some basic training on the issues or is it all about FUN!!?)
that's right. "the city and bu$iness leadership" match the demands of the alcohol industry for $ome reason.
yes it's much better to let it be an unmanaged mess until someone gets hurt
Who was ON this jury?
HonestAbe's comment as a Front Page pull quote is meant to be inflammatory or draw discussion b/w who? How dumbed down is we?
no he means the way it was before the new plaza replaced the previous open-air incarnation of shops, pedestrian plazas, fountains, kids play areas etc.
