Congratulations on 25 years.
I applaud your efforts. I know firsthand that it is a challenge to maintain a civil, and at the same time, a censorship free site. There is no perfect solution. No matter what you do some people will feel you went too far and others will feel you did not go far enough. Here are a couple of ideas that I have used that seem to help. 1> Temporary bans. Violate the TOS and start with a one week ban. Next time it’s a permanent ban. 2> Comment moderation. Problem users’ comments are held in moderation until a moderator or admin can approve them. 3> Allow users to ignore or hide a particular users’ comments. Some people just do not interact well. 4> Word filter. Ensure comment with blatantly flagrant words do not get posted until a moderator reviews them. 5> Limit the number of comments per day for problem users. 6> Comment sparing area. Some people love to fight. Give them an area to battle it out. A location not visible to others unless access is requested. I appreciate SacPress trying to address this issue openly. As one of your readers I am happy to help in any way that I can.
Hopefully these latest Kings additions will get them out of the basement of the Western Conference.
If I was talking to myself you would not be replying to me. Come on naga point out one lie or maybe you could try to stick to the discussion.
The name calling continues. Am I talking to a minor or an adult?
I have graduated to being called Mr. Do I get a prize? Hey bbbbmer I use my real name on my comments? Why do you hide behind an alias? I have read what you have written. Sometimes you have a well thought out argument, even if you a wrong. In other posts you seem to not have a very good grip on your emotions and start name calling. You seem very unstable.
They are asked to weigh in on a lot of issue, it does not mean they should.
Once again bbbbmer cannot win the debate about this law so she attacks other posters.
The name calling continues. Very mature naga. Too bad you cannot discuss the merit of the law. Instead you attack me.
More name calling? Really what grade are you in?
More name calling. Well done naga. Are you going to make some racist comment next? That has been your MO so far.
You think my comments are worth getting paid for? Thank you. It's all facts, but still thank you.
What have lied about? The fact that you are judging people based on the color of their skin? You typed the words not me. It's actually very simple to understand. Arizona is well within their rights to pass their own laws and Sacramento has no business wasting public money on this issue.
I am sorry your are confused about the Arizona law. I have a copy if you need it.
Your ideology is very clear.
bbbbmer you will attack anyone just to avoid the discussion at hand. Stay on topic bbbbme. Concentrate you can do it.
You will follow suit? Why are you following my lead? If name calling is all you bring to the table it's not going to be a very fun discussion.
naga you classify people based on race and treat them different based on that race. By definition you are a racists. You have some issue with "white" people. You have an issue with a state upholding the law. You think law enforcement is out to get, how did you put it, "brown people"? All the while you are fine with the City of Sacramento wasting public money. You are on the fringes of your own political ideology. Good luck with that.
You brought up race and you argue that Arizona should not be enforcing the law. If it walks like a duck . . .
Conversation about: Ask Officer Michelle - Officers Using Cellphones While Driving
I am fine with officers talking on the phone. How many officer involved accidents included the officer being on the phone? I think we have bigger things to worry about.
