i was at the cow palace show and it was incredible. i remember a few things very clearly. pearljam messing around started playing smells like teenage spirit and every freaked out hahaha. and of course nirvana just being so raw and amazing. how they destroyed all their equipment at the end of the set, i believe dave grohl pitching a snare drum to kurt and hitting it with his guitar like a baseball bat. but what i will never forget was how after nirvana set of three guys with no effect, crazy lights, smoke machines made the chilipepper set seem so anti-climatic despite fire eaters, costumes, dancing girls etc and huge over the top show. they got schooled by nirvana. and here is the kicker, my friends and i traded like 6 counterfeit tickets that got us all in for 2 real dead head tickets for the same night. try doing that today hahaha
