The Blue Line Gallery is proud to present a juried exhibition featuring a survey of work in all media inspired by the qualities of glass but in a variety of art media. Glass is a unique material because of its translucency, radiant color, and how glass interacts with and is illuminated by light. This month's show features work that deals with any of the following properties: translucency, transparency, jewel-like colors, and pieces that engage with light in a unique way. Featuring the work of 33 artists at different stages in their career from emerging artists to professionals, Shine is a survey of how artists successfully navigated this theme. The Runaway Stage is presenting The Drowsy Chaperone through Oct. 2, 2011, with a cast of 19 talented performers. Singing, dancing, acting, they do it all with incredible talent and timing. FREE FAMILY EVENT with a canned food donation to the Sacramento Food Bank.  The Seafarer’s Marketplace & Pirate Festival captures the essence of a caribbean seaport in the 1800s. This family festival features live music, entertainment, contests, games, cannon battles, sword fights and other seafaring activities. Multicultural food and drinks will be available (Portion of food and beverage sales go to the A.T. Valdez Foundation).
