Very well-written article! I'd make one minor correction. The Bible of Araki was silk-screened BEFORE they were fired. Even if you don't see the text underneath the top page, Araki did silk-screen all the 200 some pages when they were leather hard and then fired. She made the Bible series as a continuous dialogue with his brother who died young. He left her a torn bible which he read over and over. Araki's work is most beautiful even if they are teared (Black Bible) or buried in the Sand (Sand Bible).
