I wish I could have made the banned book thing! I bet somebody read a bunch of Joyce... probably Burroughs, too.
All songs were co-written by Ray Schau, and a link to the site can be found below: http://sacramentoshakespeare.net/shows/2010_midsummer.htm
According to Alra Gibson, Capitol Public Radio development director, this year's used record and CD sale was a big success. Around 4,000 people showed up throughout the weekend and, while final tallies are still being done, Capitol Public Radio seems to have reached their goal of $35,000 and even a bit more. "I guess we can call this one a big success!" Gibson said.
nice article Jon. I remember being at the election headquarters for Ashby the night of the election, and having to leave without a clear answer. Crazy thing with the computers going haywire, though. Well, a new era for District 1, it seems. And I must say, props to Mr. Tretheway for conceding with quiet, dignity and grace. Also, by the time anyone gets to this comment, did you forget what the article was about? Or did you forget what the original article was about due to the grinding of magnificent axes?

First, I would like to say that 'bombastically yours' is the best thing i've ever seen at the end of an article. secondly, I think you have an excellent notion with this cruising through Sac to check up on businesses. It is utterly ridiculous to have huge emporiums of space (ie: the movie theatre) filled with chilled air when the common man can't run his AC without fear he might not have enough for grocery. Kevin Johnson is the hope we have, and is certainly being more pro-active than I thought he would be, albeit, yes, in the wrong areas. I can't wait to attend his 'Green Initiative' conference tomorrow at Sac City College to hear what exactly the man is going to do to help us kick SMUD back into a reliable source of electricity. We all need to keep our voices heard, though, and a site like this is a great boon for our convictions and support.

The artist performing with Sal Valentino is Ricky Berger
Life changing, man. Henry Rollins has been on the scene for a bit, and I was purely blown away by his performance. Non-stop, that guy didn't pause at all! Nor did he take even a sip of water! Truly amazing. I wish we had more spoken word performers coming through Sac.

I couldn't agree more, RICKYRUGE!
The Aerospace Museum has been hosting events for around four or five years now, and they decided on this exhibition. I museum has more information on how they decided specifically on Star Trek (it is a phenomenal exhibit!).
Phenomenal pics, Kati!
It's so awesome to hear that the younger generation is listening to more music from their parents' age, and it just shows the immutable power that some of that early rock and roll holds. However, it might be a warning sign that the kids are playing too many video games as opposed to breaking out old records and actually touching vinyl, touching the music, seeing it move, and not watching a load bar on a screen. Viva la rock. And I will be excited to see Heart at Raley field. Also, I'm so glad the author said 'former lead singer' and not 'original lead singer' of Van Halen. Long live David Lee Roth, man.
It's always great to hear about local poetry thriving, especially when economic times are so tough. It makes it all worth it, and gives weight to the verse.
Ah, the glory of reliving 1997. All the times we quoted Austin Powers in school. Yeah, baby!
