To the dismay of musicians and coffee enthusiasts alike, Javalounge closed it's doors in December 2009 for what many believed to be the last time. A few brave souls tried their hand at harnessing the force of that location, but none could prove strong enough. After watching coffee shops come and go, Javalounge owner Jake Albus decided it was time for round two. Alerting passersby with blood-like graffiti-style paint on the front window reading "Javalounge Lives", word spread like wildfire. October 22 marked the official grand re-opening, complete with live acoustic performers, free cookies and turkey dogs, and the slightly updated beverage menu.
