It's too bad we cannot cleanup our communities. Prostitution is not a victimless crime and I am not just talking about the spouse/partner/girlfriend. I'm tired of seeing 'massage parlors' in every suburban strip mall - Orangevale, Cirus Heghts, Folsom, Roseville and the Sacramento County Sheriff is doing nothing about it despite the fact that these are connected blatantly to online escort services, are often connected to human trafficking, criminal activity (guns/violence, gangs, coersion, money laundering, other internet crime, etc), hurt local businesses, and create a bad environment for children/teenagers. No I am not a conservative crusader at all - I am a concerned, educated, progressive. DECRIMINALIZATION is NOT the answer and tax dollars going to fight prostitution is just integral to fighting other crime - they are not separate. I hope community members will become more informed about the crime that is actually occurring around the country (it's changed) and see it it changes your minds on how you think about all this.
This gallery has turned out to be very disappointing. Artists included seem to be friends of the organizers and not necessarily based on quality or inclusion. The same artists are featured over-and-over. There is no call to Sacramento artists or judgment/jury process. I do not know how you can have a space this size and have any quality art this way, plus, this does not promote the local community or the talent in Sac.... it's just another, since I own the gallery or run the space, I can promote my friends. The upcoming show is said to be for women, but the many talented women artists in Sac were not invited to submit for consideration. The shows including so called 'veterans' were the same. It's a gimmick, just like using breast cancer awareness, not something good for art, local artists, or the community. Sad.

Also, no one has addressed the problem that due to ill-conceived regulations on massage licenses, these massage parlors are actually able to pay the fees while legitimate massage therapists are not.
