naga - as one who lives on the same block as GO and has for years, this a VERY welcome replacement for the unsanitary, expensive and limited options that Rick's carried. The only things I was comfortable purchasing a Rick's were nonperishables (soap, etc.) beer, and cigarettes. You sound like one of the many, many disgruntled Midtown residents who oppose any new developments in the neighborhood, regardless of the purpose, size or benefits to the community. Perhaps you should give them the benefit of the doubt, as I believe GO will be a very positive influence on the area.
Cogmeyer, I was tying a response when I noticed that you've nicely encapsulated everything I wanted to say. Any able-minded individual should realize that they may earn a vastly superior wage by negotiating their own pay, rather than have tie their pay to the least productive employees at a worksite. Safeway is unionized - go ahead and pay 2-3x there what you would at GO.

So KJ lacked the fortitude to break w/ the Dem statewide slate and endorse Cooley for AG, as so many groups of both political persuasions have? Kamala Harris has no business working anywhere near public safety issues, much less as Attorney General. The unending law enforcement scandals in San Francisco have been a direct result of her incompetence and/or indifference, and if she wins we'll simply seem them replicated statewide.
