How could you believe such elders disfellowshipping members without real grounds at all. They are ignorant in the Bible and hypocrites. I hope real Jehovah's witnesses find ways how to remove abusive elders. They have been ruining people's lives because of their being so envious. When I was listening to the talks and the Watchtower studies, my goosebumps would raise when looking at these hypocrite elders. I am very much blessed by Jehovah, but these elders had not stopped hating me. They always looking faults against me. They are really sick people. Whenever the brothers and sisters in the congregation were enjoying talking to me and my husband I could see how Mitch Huchison was so envious, warning the brothers and sisters not to talk with us. Mitch Huchison was reproof but still in his position of being the presiding overseer. SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!

I am a devoted Jehovah's witness but I am being abused by the elders, Mitch Huchison, Jeff Cain, Matthew Swenerton, Mark Pfister in Felton California. These elders are very envious that they keep disfellowshipping members that are successful and blessed. There are lots of impostors in Felton congregation California. Nobody was able to discipline these kind of elders. They had been abusing their members ever since they became elders. These elders are very arrogant. Mitch Huchison always praise the partaker impostor Kim. I had been together in the ministry with this impostor anointed, I was shocked that she was so upset when I found a return visit. From then on they had not stopped hating me until they got to the point of disfellowshipping me.

These are very nice photos. Thank you! I enjoyed the March, in fact more than I thought I would. I enjoyed the people. I enjoyed the unity of people undivided by race, income, age... It was a wonderful tribute to Dr King's legacy. It is a beautiful event.

For a moment, 6 miles and time spent at the Convention center, the love that surrounded me caused me to put my troubles aside and enjoy the legacy. When my son, niece and I exit the return bus to the Oak Park community center, my son said, 'Mom look at their sign" I went to one woman holding a jar with pennies, nickels and dimes. The small group, having a bar-b-que, held signs with a Photo of a young black youth which read, "Please help me bury my brother, RIP..." Her younger brother was shot and killed. When I got to the end of today’s journey I was pushed back into reality and back into seeing the pain so many of us are experiencing.

While the show does give to rescue groups, this was the first show they specifically promoted "hybrid" crossbreeds, as always being acceptable as docile pets, when many times they have behavior problems, including attacking other animals as well as people. On Friday night just as I was discussing with the judges the Big Cat Rescue's opposition to crossbreeding domestic felines with wild cats, the African Savannah hybrid "Trouble" apparently had trouble so bad that he couldn't be on display at the show. This hybrid looks just like the wild cats that have ended up at Big Cat Rescue (in Florida), including a Savannah called "Diablo", for supposedly unexpected behavior issues when they grew up from being kittens. Others crossbreed-hybrids of course have gotten put down because of "wild" behavior, that of course wasn't the fault of the cat's breeding akin to breeding domestic dogs with wolves. Just as with dogs, undoing three thousand years of domestic breeding doesn't present any advantages for either the endangered wild animals nor the overpopulation of the domestic ones. Anyway both wild and domestic cats end up suffering to create the one rare prize hybrid cat going from a first generation crossbreed to a third or fourth generation-and can result around 50 cats that most likely can't be household pets, that can either end up being destroyed or killed to make coats. Just makes one wonder, why not just save the endangered actual wild cats? But of course there is no money in that!
While the main judge told me that he wouldn't allow first generation crossbreeds into this show, its seems apparent that the owner(s) of "Trouble" might have deceived them.(A vet could of looked at this cat and given a report) Well they now should be made responsible for proper care of this hybrid cat along with its unpredictable behavior for the rest of its life, including keeping him contained from possibly causing harm to other people or their pets.

When people ask where to see "fall color" in Sacramento, I generally recommend Land Park/Curtis Park or East Sacramento. The more dramatic trees are Eastern varieties that were planted in cities as shade trees, while our native trees in the foothills just tend to turn brown in fall--a less impressive "show" than their eastern relatives.

Streetcars had been out of service for 20 years by the time that K Street was converted into a pedestrian mall--and for two years by the time the Crest opened in 1949. The 20 years after the end of streetcar operation, and following the opening of Sacramento's first suburban shopping centers, mark the era of K Street's initial decline.

Re-branding K Street as a suburban-friendly shopping center doesn't work. Downtown Sacramento has to offer a different product--the urban experience itself--to set itself apart.

I'm biased, I'll admit it.

The idea would have been safer and more reasonable had the vehicular traffic been one way, Similar to 12th Street. Although the intended speed limit is 15MPH, I doubt anyone will adhere to that speed restriction.

The City rushed into this, and as a result we have a flawed execution. The limit lines painted on the edges of either side of the street are supposed to act as limit lines. If a car, pedicab, or other obstruction is on or over that limit line my train will not be able to pass.

Too bad no one bothered to measure before the lines were painted, as they were painted UNDER the train, Which helps no one. The concrete pillars at the corners of 8th, 9th and 10th were installed less than 2 feet from the doors of the train. Step off the train and step into a concrete pillar.

Change is always difficult for some folks, Including myself. I could take this in stride had the project not been so rushed and poorly planned.

Marc - the City currently gets the parking revenue to use in whatever manner it chooses and, on occasion, it allows free parking to promote an event or a venue. Obviously, that marginally reduces the revenue but the payoff is in promoting the downtown area and helping encourage people to attend downtown events which, in turn, generates more spending downtown. If the City sells the parking garages or leases them for a fixed fee, it gains a lump sum payment from the new operator but it also loses the ongoing revenue from the garages/meters. The operator is only going to enter into such a deal if they can make a profit and the only way they make a profit is to either pay the City the same amount it currently receives in revenues and then increase the fees, or maintain the same fees and pay the City less than they currently collect (or some compromise between the two). The City may gain that lump sum that could be applied towards a project, but it loses the ongoing revenue stream - so it's not found money, it's just money being collected at a different moment in time. If the money is spent on a particular project, then the City also has to make up the new shortfall in general income from the lost revenue stream. In other words, it hasn't actually helped financially - in practice all it means is that the City has borrowed from its future self - and it's still going to have to pay itself back by making up that shortfall. In the meantime, the City loses the control and the discretion to support the local events and venues by offering free or subsidized parking. That could damage multiple arts events and festivals as well as eliminate the revenue stream - which seems like a lose/lose.

People seem to be thinking in terms of selling or leasing the parking garages/spaces as though it's an infusion of one-time free cash - like a sudden, surprise bonus at work. But it's not like that at all - it's more like having your employer come along and offer a one-time bonus in return for accepting a lower salary from now on. That's great for people who take the bonus and then quit - but it's not as good for employees who expect to stick around. And those of us who are going to stick around Sacramento might get a new facility of some kind but we're going to have to live with reduced revenues from lost parking income for years to come. The only way to come out ahead in the long run is to be absolutely certain that somehow that new facility is going to generate more from increased local spending than the parking garages would ever have generated. But those other smaller local arts events, venues and festivals still stand to suffer and if they disappear they're also detracting from spending downtown. And, coincidentally, just as people are suggesting using such a deal to finance an arena, with math that relies on a stable basketball income and high attendance figures, we're watching an NBA lockout and seeing other cities with financed arenas threatening to sue teams and/or the league because their basketball revenue is suddenly non-existent. If the arena makes sense, it should do so without gimmicks like selling off future parking revenue and risking damage to existing community organizations, events, venues, and festivals.

Your moving images remind us to "Never Forget." They are uncluttered, needing no captions for us to feel the moment.

Thank you for covering the commemoration activities on Capitol Mall. Sadly, when I arrived at 2pm, there were less than 200 people there. However, all the firefighters and bagpipers gave a fitting ending to honor the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Your images help us all to "Never Forget." Thank you for capturing the spirit out on Capitol Mall... there were too few photos covering that location. When I arrived at 2pm, there were less than 200 people sharing the commemoration activities. However, the bagpipes stirred up the small crowd with a fitting ending for the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

Hi DKS, thanks for asking! The baseball player sculptures by Lisa Reinertson were taken down a few years ago because they needed some conservation work, but they are now installed in front of the West Sacramento City Hall. The sculptures were created for outdoor display, so we don't plan on displaying them inside the Museum in the future. You can see another work by the artist on the first floor of the Museum. It's a clay sculpture called "Wolf Rider, Ophelia's Return."
