Wow...whether you did it on purpose or not, this article clearly reads like you're using the death of MCA to promote a local band. The shouldn't have even been published.
I wonder how effective this will be anyway when a vote wouldn't happen until November. By that time, the deal may be final.
Nice article...Keep up the good work!
Regardless of the debate about what causes homelessness and whether it should really even matter if one chooses to be homeless or if they are a victim, I am completely taken aback by the fact that (so far) three people have chosen to give this article a thumbs down. Really? So those of you that give this a thumbs down, you don't support fundraisers for homeless? Maybe Im missing something, but it is just bizzare to me that anyone would be so against helping the homeless that they would actually go to the length of disapproving the article.
I bet its only a better of time before this building is forced to close. What a dump
This place is really very good and $10.95 is a great deal for all you can eat. Personally, if you think 10.95 is too much for this place, you're probably a little cheap. I hope it starts taking credits cards though. Seriously, why would any restaurant these days be cash only?
Congrats to Equality Action Now and Tina Reynolds!
Very interesting movie and a great Q&A afterwards.
I was there the other day. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a larger menu. I went expecting to eat diner. That being said, it's a really cool place with some great appetizers, good selection of beer, and an awesome patio. I would highly recommend checking it out. Maybe go for a drink and see what else they have to offer.
You've pointed to ONE example of a completely privately financed professional sporting facility. These things do not get built without public money. If we dont put up some money, another city will and the Kings move. Now, if you are ok with that, then fine. Just dont operate under the assumption this thing can get built with private funds only--it cannot.
I attended my first event at Arco/Power Balance yesterday. It was a graduation. I can tell you that the arena is in really bad shape. The seats are old and uncomfortable, the floor is wood, and the lighting just sucks. I know people have different opinions about how a new arena should be funded, but having just attended an event there, I know really believe we need a new arena.
I've always wanted to come check out the Shack, but it closes too early. What's up with the early closing times?
So...if the Kings do move, what is the best scenario for the city regarding the loan?
I wonder if it is possible or even feasible to allow individuals to buy into the new arena. Maybe issue some type of shares for $1,000 a piece, or whatever the actual amount needs to be. Have an independent board, just like any other corporation run it, and then it is owned collectively by the shareholders, whomever that may be. I dont know...just an idea
why would it cost $40+ million to move railroad tracks 500 feet? What am I missing here?
Alkali Flat is really getting a lot nicer. The drug dealing and crime used to be a lot worse and I think it suffers from more of a stigma today than anything else. Dont get me wrong, I would want to live there YET, but it is definitely improving. This development should really make a big difference.
Talk about a bridge to nowhere.
Yes, Hurricane, the logical conclusion to draw from legalizing Marijuana is that crank will be legalized soon thereafter. ridiculous...
where exactly is this restaurant going to be? In the old Jamba Juice spot?
Conversation about: Why We Can't Turn Affordable Housing Into Expendable Housing
I agree that we need more affordable housing, but actually affordable housing is about the only thing being built in downtown Sacramento. There are so many projects that either just finished or are currently under construction.
