I ride my bike to school and work. It would take me more time to drive and park, and cost a ton of money in parking permits. When I do decide to drive Karma gets me and I get parking tickets! Biking all the way for me. And I ride in the bike lane, that way I'm more visible to cars and not zooming by people on the sidewalk. Feels safer in the street to me. (every time I've fallen on my bike has been on the sidewalk!)
February was my first critical mass! You can see me there in the red fleece! I love the concept, and I can't wait for the weather to get nicer to double the turnout. It really turned out to be a perfect evening for a bike ride.
I had a great time and met a lot of new people at the #sactweetup. It's always fun bringing a virtual community together in the physical world. Thanks Pangaea for providing the great venue!
I've been wondering about Trivia night in Sacramento. I'll definitely have to hit some of these up with a good group of co-eds. Let's make a team! Any ideas on a good name?
Sacramento is moving in the right direction. Our flat city is perfect for bicycle commuting, and I can't wait to see our streets decorated with artistic bike racks! See you tomorrow night, hopefully the rain will hold off for us.
I wish i could have come. Seems like a great workshop, let us know when the next one is! It will help me move from commenting to reporting substantial events.
I grew up in the Bay Area and came to Sacramento for college because it was close to Tahoe. It took me a while to warm up to Sacramento. I was one of those who believed that Sac was just something in the middle. No reason to visit unless you wanted to try to see Arnold. After living here for almost 4 years now, I have grown love this city and will represent it proudly. We have a thriving, nurturing community full of diversity. I am from Marin County, what I consider one of the most beautiful places in the world. But in Sacramento, I cherish every time I ride my bike along the American River trail and watch the sunset on the river while the train passes by, and the warm summer nights walking around Midtown. While the culture in Sacramento might not be as apparent as in the Bay, it definitely exists, and I've met great people in the community. As much as I want Sacramento to known as a thriving up and coming city, I enjoy our secret metropolitan area.
I went last year and it was really cool. It was raining and the riders were still coming around the turns at 20 mph!

That's a great idea. It's always fun cruising down the street in a large group of people, especially in this sunny weather!
