Interested to learn about new ideas. What industries are using social media the most to qualify new candidates? How are job seekers using social technologies to network with perspective hiring authorities? Is more required of candidates in order to stand out? Has social media made it easier to sift through prospects for a role? This is an exceptional and timely topic. I hope our meeting is only the beginning of this important conversation and that we can offer some conduit for connecting people to opportunities.

A few folks have asked what we mean by "intermediate." if you have reasonable command of your browser and know your way around a computer than we're glad to have you aboard. We'll discuss using igoogle and Goggle gadgets to save time managing social media. The Small and home based business crowd will definitely get a bundle of time-saving tools when it comes to sharing links and managing different online properties from one site. We'll also touch on a few browser tips. Workshops at Sacramento Press are always a good time!

The responsibility of finding growth opportunity in this lean economy lies in entrepreneurial effort. Entrepreneurship, either in small business or within larger organizations requires networking with honesty and audacity. Groups that offer quality networking, idea share, problem solving resources and peer advisory groups will flourish. They are the in-person glue for online social networking and social media. eWomenNetwork, Young Professionals Organization and Social Media Club are burgeoning local examples.
