Looking to play basketball without adding another monthly bill for a gym membership? Well, you're in luck. It seems that every day in Sacramento there is a pick-up basketball game with your name on it. Games occur regularly at the Coloma Center (47th & T), McKinley Park (3330 Mckinley Blvd.), Roosevelt Park (10th & P St.), Southside Park (6th & T St.) and Sutter Middle School (3150 I St.). So if you're in the Midtown area of Sacramento, there is probably a game going on in your neighborhood. South Sacramento’s Junior Giants league kicked off their summer season with a great opening day at George Sim Park, located at 6207 Logan St., last Saturday. Kids, ages 5-14, gathered with their parents for a fun-filled day as the teams played their first game. The teams play games every Saturday until August 22 when the closing ceremony will be held. The league is still accepting enrollment for children ages 5-7 and is looking for additional coaches from the community. Junior Giants, which started in 1994, was created to give kids a meaningful partnership with community-based organizations and to provide an alternative to drugs, gangs and crime. The Junior Giants Program now serves 15,0
I went to the show at Punch Line with Paul Mecurio w/ Jason Downs & Laura Rosenberg, absolutely hilarious. Paul has quite the resume from his comedy career, he is at Punch Line all weekend. I strongly suggest the show to anyone that likes "spur-of-moment" humor.
Hope they're successful. Teens need an enjoyable place to hang out with a positive environment. I've got nothing against skate parks, but a building with a career center will be more constructive in the building of a teenager's future.
How quickly it moved made it even more intense. One moment the sky was clear, the next i'm seeing bright flashes outside my window with heavy rain lagging behind. I've never seen anything like it.
News to me. Good Info on top of an educating link. Thanks
