Thanks for the great review, Tony. Casey, we're glad you got a lot from the event...hope to see you and everyone back next month.
I appreciate critics. It gives me a chance to check in with myself and my actions. I feel very pleased about what we are building with the forum. I do not think that we are fragmenting at all, exactly the opposite. We are bringing people together. I also think that we are indeed politically active, but being political is not synonymous with being antagonistic. From the results of the county’s decisions it is clear that more needs to be done in Sacramento, but it does not make any sense to me to point fingers at the County’s first Sustainability Program Manager. Cecilia Jensen and the programs she is involved with to address climate change are a step in the right direction. They are, in fact, seeking input and direction through community outreach. The forum may even be an opportunity for this. Jim and Cecilia have in fact both pointed to the challenge of the influence of short term monetary gain over long term sustainability. We certainly all understand that this is one of these core issues for our future that we all share with our global community. For each of our parts, we can only ask, “What are we doing to change this, and how effective are our actions?” I will do as much as I can, as effectively as I can. You are all invited to bring your input and leadership to the table at the next forum: www.ssf1009.eventbrite.com Jacob Griscom Sacramento Sustainability Forum, Co-Founder
