Conversation about: Hit-and-run totals horse carriage

Wow, this very same thing happened to us this past saturday night in North Carolina. The horse Suzi is a Percheron/paint quater horse. Black and white. 4 yrs old. The person rear ended us sending my driver into the laps of the 2 passengers. The motorist claims the white carriage with black wheels blended in with the pavement...what an excuse. Broke our carriage in half as well. Sent the seats flying the passengers seat was underneath the man that rear ended them. My driver managed to climb over (John Wayne style) and grab hold of the reins to try to stop the horse and was able to slow her enough for the passenger to get off of the carriage. My driver has a back injury...bruised terribly, but she's a tuff girl, and passengers were just bumped and bruised. It is amazing how tuff these carriages are. Now Suzi is extremely traumatized. How is Fox mentally now? I feel like if I take Suzi back downtown that any loud noise may set her off. Feel like I'd be liable then. Great story! Was so glad to read everyone was ok. when I came acrossed this article, I was like this was just like ours. Same horse, different state. Unbelievable!! Hope you and your horse Fox is doing ok!!
