Conversation about: City Council to consider economic boycott against Arizona

We have SO many pressing problems in Sacramento, and personally I find it reprehensible that our City Council has seen fit to waste their precious time passing judgement on the actions of another state that simply re-phrased a law that is already in place but totally unenforced on a National level. They are only trying to get Washington to PAY ATTENTION. And I fervently wish A) that our Council members would do the same, about OUR challenges and B) that KJ wasn't so eager to fold when he encountered opposition to his original position on this matter. If I am suspected of breaking the law, I am required to show a valid driver's license or some other type of valid I.D. It's the law of the land. Why should people "DWB" be any different?

Conversation about: City Council seals billboards deal with Clear Channel

Digital billboards are "attractive nuisances", but I think it would have been very irresponsible of city Council NOT to approve the leases given our current fiscal crisis. I wonder if Clear Channel has their "sites" set on any property in Sac County....they could use some new revenue sources too!

Conversation about: Grocery Outlet to open 17th & Capital

Grocery Outlet is a top notch chain and the values they offer are truly unbelievable! They are always managed by devoted and dedicated couples who are willing to work very, very hard to eventually own their own business. It's a wonderful business model, and extremely successful, because at the same time they are able to pass along FABULOUS prices to their customers. They develop legions of raving fans in no time. Congratulations, Midtown! I wish we could be that lucky in Natomas!

Conversation about: Tretheway Signgate 2010: Cover-Up Worse Than the Crime

I think that Mr.Sharward gave us a very apt and succinct review of this very scandalous and really puzzling incident. The phrase "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??" comes to mind. Both of these gentlemen are very politically savvy, with a good deal of experience in this arena. And yet all three of them (I am l now including Ray since he is the titular head and as such, is officially the responsible party for any missteps or misdeeds that anyone working for his re-election may commit, this according to our Election Laws currently in place) are responding to inquiries in a most unfortunate manner. If only they had just admitted that they were wrong, said that they were sorry and let it go!

Conversation about: Surveillance Cameras Help to Catch Murder Suspect

Sometimes "Better Living Through Chemistry" can have unexpected results. Casey may be the nicest guy and greatest father, but if he got high on something, or if God forbid, someone slipped him something, then for a time, he wasn't the Casey that everyone remembers and evidently valued a great deal. Or maybe he was on anti-depressants, which can have catastrophic results. It is quite a stretch to believe that there is someone else out there with self-imposed tire tracks running the length of the right side of his face, the same fashion sense in earrings and the same-shaped face running around stabbing 68-year-old women. What a tragedy, no matter who is responsible. I have a great deal of faith in Jan Scully and her amazingly dedicated staff. Justice will be served.
