To the Editor: There is a link in this story to a January joke of an article by Jack Nordby: Is It Good Bye to Good Eats? You may want to trash that one. First of all, if the author cannot even spell Peet's correctly, what else did he have wrong? The story is nothing more than a personal attack on Mike Teel and even his fiancee (even going so far as to suggest Teel had told his fiancée that she was the Good Eats CEO simply “to make her feel important and so he could get some.” So he could "get some"?Come on, Sacramento Press, you are better than that. And, for those wondering, I do not know Michael Teel or his fiancée, have never met them. But I will be patronizing their new store.
Michael Teel did not "oust" anyone or even try to oust anyone. As cogmeyer states below, it was Darrell Corti who did not have a lease (actually, he had one, but it was month-to-month, instead of long-term). So, Michael Teel came along with a better offer -- that's how the business cookie crumbles. And to this day I do not understand why Sacramentans have it out for Michael Teel. And yet they worship Darrell Corti, who, as we can plainly see, runs a dump of a store. Good food, yes; but a store in bad need of redecorating. And how about longer hours, so I can stop by after work and not have to race to get there by 7; and maybe an indoor seating area, so I can eat my sandwich there on Saturday? Or a coffee bar? I wish it had been Good Eats in place of Corti Bros., because we would not have had to wait so long for Good Eats, and, judging from what Teel did to the former Andiamo site, a Good Eats in the Corti Bros. site would have been a BIG step up from Corti Bros. in terms of a spruced up look and amenities. Only now is Corti Bros. (or the landlord) fixing up the outside of the building. Today I saw a new seating area outside, which made me laugh on a 100-plus-degree day. Already i see that Good Eats will be open later than Corti Bros. -- so I say WELCOME GOOD EATS.
Kaplan is HOT, you say? You just lost my vote.

Good of you to unlink the link, but why not delete the Nordby piece altogether? It is worthless -- and it makes me question whether I should continue reading the Sacramento Press, if for no other reason than you allowed someone to use the phrase "get some." It is sexist, it is dehumanizing, and, in the end, adds nothing to Nordby's "article."
