Landlord aside, kombucha is fantastic! Here in New York City, you can get it in every corner convenience store, even at 4 in the morning, and a kombucha bar opened in Williamsburg in February, though I haven't been there. Perhaps the potential owners should fly back and check it out. http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkintheroad/2012/02/kombucha_party.php
Thanks for being a fantastic guest on Insight, Melissa, as well as a terrific reporter for The Sacramento Press. It's been good.
Well done, Melissa! You have as good a grip on this whole process as anyone, and better than most. Of course, you have left me slightly depressed, but that's not YOUR fault.
Great concert, great shots, great review. And that was the place to be, for real. I ran into literally dozens of people, and all of them agreed: Hell of a great show. Well done, Aaron.
Pizza Rock, for all its detractors, has really been the game changer so far. I've not noticed a big change in the use of K by vehicles, but that's mostly an observation based on passing OVER K on my way to and from the south side of the city. Haven't hung out ON K much. The success of Pizza Rock is, I'm hoping, a miniature preview of what will happen when 14 new businesses open in the 700 block. That's going to make or break the whole street. I'm pretty sure it will make it. Bay and Ali's development on R and 14th has certainly done the trick there.
Sounds like a big fish story, aka, a "whopper"!
Hi Mike - I will definitely still be doing Insight, including tomorrow and every other Friday following that, though not in November, when I'll be "on assignment." But back in December. Thanks for asking.
I will, in fact, be substitute hosting Insight on a more regular basis. Beginning this Friday, I will be hosting the show every other Friday, in addition to sitting in for Jeffrey Callison when he's on vacation. Much thanks to Jeffrey, Joe Barr and producer Jen Picard for their faith in me. Much appreciated.
Thanks, Janna. Keep your columns coming. You're doing it.
Thanks Bill. But dude, you STILL owe me three stories. Garages, and...oh hell, I can't remember the other two. But YOU are the exemplar of what "citizen journalists" can do. Your comments are better written than most professional journalism. I hope you keep it coming. You know your stuff.
Thanks, cogmeyer. What amazes me is that I really DO get too much credit for this. The hard work has been done by Brandon, Melissa, Suzanne, Kathleen and the community contributors. I just encouraged them and gave some advise. But reporting is hard work, and THEY did it. And they will continue to do it.
LOL!!! Josh, I ASKED YOU NICELY to stop peeking in my windows.
Thanks Rhonda. I am almost as pleased by your comments as I am disturbed by the two thumbs down! Yikes! No, actually, I'm more pleased by your comments. Thumbs down are cheap. Much appreciated. Keep going on your mission.
Right? Who actually SITS like that? I blame Russ.
We preview all kinds of shows, sir. "Always" doesn't even begin to apply.
This is a terrific story about a very important new/old idea given new legs, and the photos are great! Thanks, Evelyn!
Thanks for posting this, Jon. This aspect of redistricting has been overshadowed by the conflict over Oak Park and the Medical Center, but is arguably more significant to the future of the central city. Why this land grab by one member of the Council is being tolerated by the others is not a mystery, but it is certainly disturbing. Thanks for addressing it.
Again, the proof will be in the booking. Get the right mix of bands out there and who knows? It just might work...
Conversation about: Small details could have big impact in Sacramento budget debate
Maybe someone could write a situation comedy called "Community Development Department," and use the proceeds to fund it? Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
