It's nice to see so many different viewpoints on this new policy shown in the article. If I rode the train or carried a gun I'd offer up an opinion of my own:)
It's unfortunate that the sound volume didn't live up to the symphony's title. Great review, however!
Landry=consistent Omri=passion Evans=skill Cousins=bumbling Thompson=inconsistent Greene=who cares Garcia=team leader? give me a break. I want to love my Kings, but they don't play with any consistency or pride.
I just watched the movie "Role Models" last night, and now this! Maybe it's time for me to cave to the bizarre allure of this medieval hobby. I find this to be hilarious.
Yes, it was a great variety of people, career-types, and motivations for attending the workshop. Take me, for example, I am no planner as you well know, yet I was welcomed right into the conversation and equally valued as a contributor.
I keep hearing people complain about the fire department's inaction as a result of there possibly being an explosive device in that backpack. Of course these criticisms come from people like you and I, sitting safely behind our computer screens, while those facing the potential explosion had a life to lose and not dollars to gain. How could you critique them for being cautious when it was their lives on the line? What would you have done?
Virtual dissection huh? Well I'm proud that I'll be able to tell my kids, "When I was your age we dissected real frogs. That's right, real ones."
Hi Laura, Great review on the lecture. You covered some elements that I had left out of my own review. Keep on posting!
haha, Lindol, would you like to contribute your take on the Eggers lecture as well? The more perspectives the better it seems:)
Yeah I saw that. Double the fun, I guess.
It's good to see that proceeds will go to benefit the Romanian League in Defense of Animals (ROLDA)., wait, what the heck is that?
naga-I meant to provide a link to "For Art's Sake" website, which includes more information on the "action plan." It can be seen in .pdf format at: http://www.forartsake.org/actionplan.htm
If you have knowledge of a Halloween event that has not been included on this list, please post the information in a comment and share it with rest of us!
Rick Steves is a living legend!
This was a very informative read. It's enlightening to hear her thoughts on some of the most world-changing events of our recent history and realize that she played a key role in many of them.
Thanks! She was extremely down-to-earth and approachable. It was refreshing to speak so openly with her.
For this same story in visual format, check out CBS13's coverage of this sidewalk issue: http://www.cbs13.com/video/?id=77876@kovr.dayport.com
You and PETA have now both informed me of this dark "underbelly." There is definitely a time and a place to speak to issues of animal cruelty, but this article wasn't written for that purpose.

Those are some beautiful pictures!
