Performers from Sacramento’s young performing ambassadors, Galena Street East, recently returned from a triumphant tour to Oahu, Hawaii. Galena was selected to represent the state of California in the 2011 "Festival of States" concert series. This summer, the Music Festival was set to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. For Galena Street East, this was their 39th good-will ambassador tour. They performed at various venues presenting "The Spirit of America." Galena Street East, California’s young performing ambassadors from Sacramento, will be holding auditions for the Children’s Chorus, Allegro, and East Street Gang groups on Saturday, June 4, 2011. The spirit of patriotism is alive and well in the hearts and minds of nineteen young adults from the Sacramento area. Recently returning from a summer tour in Washington, D.C., these talented teens sang, danced and performed as members of Galena Street East, a performing arts ensemble dedicated to training Sacramento’s rising generation in the various styles of music and dance.
