Conversation about: New retail store serves local DIY food and drink crowd

I have been a homebrewer on and off for over 10 years, so I was pretty excited when I learned that there was a home brew store opening in Oak Park. Unfortunately when I went in the owner, who was very friendly, didn't really know anything about brewing. When I asked him a few simple questions about a recipe that I was considering, he didn't know the answers and vainly tried to find them on the internet and then pointed me to some books on his shelves. I honestly believe he was trying to be helpful, but I wont be going back until he hires someone who actually has brewed beer before.

Conversation about: Protesters shut down L Street

Acutally I am very knowledgeable about Sac PD and their response times. There have been numerous incidents in Natomas where DV calls have been given low priority. In a couple of incidents that I am aware of response time was over an hour for incidents when injuries were reported and then when the PD finally showed up they were callous and demeaning to the VICTIMs and didn't make much effort to apprehend the perps.

Conversation about: Protesters shut down L Street

In Sacramento you cant get the police to respond to domestic violence and other violent crimes yet they send 20-30 squad cars to deal with 20 peaceful protesters who volunteered to be arrested. Not to mention the CHP cars and on horseback. Just think of all money wasted by this mismanagement of law enforcement resources (5-10 officers and a wagon would have been enough to deal with the situation)

Conversation about: Bike Racks in the Flats?

I am very supportive of bicycle racks for Alkali Flats and many other business, but it is pretty ironic that the city is promoting this effort just after it took out several miles of bike lanes in and around Alkali Flats in order to make way for more car parking. Maybe if the city had left the bike lanes in place there would actually be cyclists riding to these businesses

Conversation about: Council will address cars on K Street Tuesday, 6 p.m.

Why does city staff keep floating this horrible idea that even their own stilted polling showed has no public support? This is a proposal driven by city staff with an agenda based on their own personal beliefs instead of sound analysis of what is good for the downtown area.
