Conversation about: Inside Sacramento's "Tent City"

If the city received tens of millions to solve the homeless situation the questions are. How much? What conditions? When and who received it ? How and who spent it ? Is there any money left? What documentation goes along with the money.

Conversation about: Strikes!

I drive by there at 1:30AM on my way to work and there are a lot of vehicles still in the parking lot. Time to check out the lanes.

Conversation about: Super Bowl in Sacramento... not quite the South...

Better than most Superbowls with the last minute momentum changing and the point spread so close. It took some time but I finally got the glue off.

Conversation about: Rush relevant, disregard yesterday's post!

Rush Limbaugh is relevant because so many people listen and agree with him. He no longer has many fresh ideas. I listen to him from time to time. I admit that I cannot stay tuned more than 20 minutes. Anything iinteresting, or response to critics or events is usually in the first half hour. Rush knows his audience and has been successful by pandering to them. He has become a captive of his own audience, albeit in a gilded cage.Frequent deviations from what is expected would alienate his most ardent fans. Giving Obama credit for anything would not go down well with many ditto heads. Preaching to the choir may not attract many converts but it keeps the current flock satisfied. This is true of most pundit/entertainers. They are inside the box to narrow expectations of their audience. The maintenance of their celebrity is the most precious possession. Rush is not alone in this obsession in media mediocrity. Keith Olbermann is a leftist version of the narrow, distorted, selective perspective. An example of genuine perspective in the media is C-SPAN founder Brian Lamb, a person exhibiting quiet depth of knowledge in interviews with historic perspective in mind.

Rush has become a captive of his own audience. He does not want to alienate them. Giving Obama credit for anything would put suspicion in the minds of his most devoted ditto heads. This is true of most pundit entertainers. They are captive to the narrow expectations of their audience to maintain the most precious status of celebrity. This is equally true on the left. Keith Olbermann represents his own brand of narrow, distorted selective perspective.
