Yes, this lowers the bar quite a bit.
Has OWS or OS not seen "that these same barriers have limited blacks and other Latinos from gaining a advantage before the economic crisis hit"? I don't think so. It seems as if the movement and protests are open to everyone, but if ANY group is looking for a special invite, they will be disappointed.
As someone who grew up in Davis and lived there for many years, I have to note that the UCD Police are one step above a mall cop: overfed, overpaid, and overzealous clowns. These guys spend the majority of there time ticketing people for bike infractions and chasing drunk undergraduates in a sleepy college town, and act like extras from an episode of SWAT. By the way, the officer in question, Lt. Pike, gets paid $100,000 a year to perform these difficult duties.
Walking with a CAIN? I'm glad she was ABEL.
What a twit.
For Pete's sake, how about some maps or at least very specific descriptions (e.g. "between 13th and 14th streets from P to S Streets") or something? I shouldn't have to puzzle this out!
Ah, yes. The usual smug anti-bike blowhardery. My experience is that drivers get hostile any time someone -- on a bike or on foot -- gets in the way of their precious Happy Motoring, and act out like spoiled children. I have been commuting by bike for 30 years and it never ceases to amaze me that there are people who want to insist that all bike riders are brazen scofflaws. I drive, and I bike, and there are generally the same number of inconsiderate, rule breaking jerks in both camps. The difference is that one is driving a 5000-pound machine that can kill.
That building is BUTT-UGLY and is a mutilation of the existing structure. It looks like some klutz stuck the headquarters of a pharmaceutical firm on the old building. It is a joke.
Seems like there are ample hipster/dive bars around...and while I'm unlikely to patronize a sports bar, not sure what Yippee would rather see, since he was not specific.
I hope you're just kidding. Sacramento has already been mutilated enough by freeways.
Because it's egregious?
That sucks. Good on you for being positive about it.
It's Greg Hayes, not Chris Haynes.
Get over it.
Why not revise the line?
Lose the watermarks on the pictures. They are awful.
No one should trust the Maldouches. They pissed away their fortune, and now want Sacramento to help bail them out. What a farce.
Great news. The more bike lanes, the more bicyclists and less cars.
Conversation about: Wilco descends on Mondavi Center; Shins, Florence next
I'm going to this show because I love Wilco, but holy cow: $60...I'd personally like to see a more affordable venue.
