As a classroom teacher for many years, I know many teachers who are dedicated, hard working individuals who make their students' needs a priority. It's not just "for the job." For those who are familiar with the working conditions for teachers, we all know it's not just for the job. If it were, no one would ever want to be a teacher. As our principal has said, it's one of the hardest professions in the world, and it takes the qualities of leadership, love, and a dedicated work ethic to comply with all the demands of teaching K-12. I come from a long background of professionals in the field of education, and it is in my nature to care about each and everyone of my students no matter what problems or barriers to becoming educated they may have. Let's support our teachers who are in the trenches dealing with our most precious future: our children, our students.
