I love your picture of Igor. You really caught the sparkle in his baby blues. "igor" is one of the chosen names for the 2010 hurricanes. It is bound to be powerful, invigorating and smashing. For the sake of the folks on the Atlantic coast, however I hope it will be as gentle as Igor's sweet eyes.

Burt, not every singer has the singing range of Igor. I actually prefer the low voices for Jazz singing. I'm sorry I missed Molly. Those breathy higher notes you described make me want to be first in line to see her next time she appears here.

Burt, thanks for your insight and love for traditional jazz. Since I have been going for so many years I decided this year to try to see as many of the "new" bands as I could fit in. My "must see" familiar bands that I see every year are Climax and Igor. I was able to include them this year as I sandwiched in some unfamiliar bands and styles. I loved the Mariachi Los Gallos performance. They put their hearts into every note. One band that completely surprised me was the Tom Rigney & Flambeau. I can't believe I am now a fan of zydeco ! Not only was Tom an exciting showman but his piano player alone was worth the price of admission.
