I am sorry....but I have lived in Oak Park for over 20 years and these 'do gooder' projects accomplish nothing. What Oak Park needs is market rate housing the type that changed Bryte in West Sacramento and is changing parts of Del Paso Heights. Projects that Hammond has specifically turned her back on.

These folks especially the churches and the politicians have a vested interest in Oak Park being viewed and viewing itself as victims. These pastors want to start doing some good, then don't let the drug dealers camp out on their doorsteps. Shame the prostitutes which are back strolling Broadway and 37th. But most of all start calling the cops when they see kids milling around that should be in school. Bring shame back to being a poor parent. That will accomplish more than all these one day 'shows' they do in hopes of getting on the evening news.
