About Me

Has anyone else considered this notion? If California is prone to "Brown Outs" in terms of electricty, are we really ready to switch to electric cars so quickly? If oil is not used with cars, it will simply be diverted to another means of producing power.

Local Boy Makes Good (Music Video)

Mike Dahlquist, A.K.A "Mike Diva" of Sacramento's Electro/Punk/Rap duo 'Vincent Flaw',  has for us yet another trick from his sleeve!   With effects help from Trenton Moore of  'dVICE' (also locally based),  Dahlquist has created what I'd like to call "An Intentional Mind F**k of a Music Video" that marries well with the song  "Mark David Chapman", written and recorded by the almost indescribable yet undeniably fascinating 'Mindless Self Indulgence'.  At 21, Dahlquist is no stranger to the camera.  He has already won two grand prizes at the T.O.Y. Film Festival, grand prize at the SEVA awards, and has directed a nationally televised commercial for the fashion store 'Getta Clue'.  It was

Will Blue October Stike Gold Again?

Being from Texas, I am proud to have been introduced to a Houston based band that has worked so hard to get what they want.  I have watched them grow from playing all ages crowds, being dropped from record labels twice, breakups, drug, and psychological issues to becoming a group of musicians with a tight bond and a unified soul tthat seems unbreakable.  One which has gained them national attention, because their problems are the fuel. Their previous album "Foiled", which contained "Hate Me" and "Into the Ocean" ,  was not my favorite thus far, but contained great songs none the less.  Both have official videos on www.youtube.com.  What impresses me most about Blue october is their abilit

A Downtown New Year... A Time for New "Thinks".

This New Year is undoubtedly the most important New Year of my life, on account of growth in areas including politics, relationships and spirituality.  The ball drop was amazing.  It proved to this town, this country, EVEN THIS WORLD, that Sacramento can be happy and show solidarity if only given an outlet.  More importantly, we proved it to ourselves. We have a new President, may God help him keep his promises. We have a new Mayor, and as with Mr. Obama, may youth and charisma be proven tools for changes that are greatly needed.  I have a reinvigorated  love and respect for my family.  May fortune continue to shine upon them, for they are truly brave. May you and yours be as lucky an

Is It Spelled Without An 'H'?

I'm on my way to OfficeMax located on 17th & J  when I find myself skipping out of the way of a cute girl on a metallic green Fixie.  Seemed rather commonplace.  Upon second glance, I notice that attached to this bicycle is a cart of some sort full of promo for this, the very Web 2.0 application for which I am using! I find myself very interested and strike up a conversation, touting eveything around Midtown that I am involved with including local music, personal music production, film, and the Sacramento Film and Music Festival.  It's an immediate reaction to market myself.  I learned it in Business School. Yes, Business School.  Know Thy Enemy. "What's your favorite movie?"  The girl

Conversation about: Professional Bikers Practicing in Sacramento

Dear Sacramento, It's freezing, wet and you aren't racing. STOP WEARING THE TIGHTS. And put on some blue jeans. signed, the guy who lit up a cigarette in the middle of a bunch of bike enthusiasts just to get some dirty looks. PS.: Regardless, I loved the event and everyone involved. :P

Let's take the Per Diem under the microscope. This is where I agree with the Governor. Why pay for a sub-par job? During the election period of 2008, McClintock was accused of taking Per Diem when he didn't need it. I refuse to believe he is THE ONLY PERSON that is taking advantage of a loophole that gives a right to the tax-free payments. But this is promising: http://www.politickerca.com/jamieklatell/269/pig-book-california-ranks-49th-pork-barrel-spending

Exactly jason, I agree. You would not be happy about it. These people aren't happy. So they voice it. "The problem is that government spending has outpaced growth." Go sit in the gallery and listen. You will realize that alot of this money spending is not near as relevant to keeping the state in order.

Waldorf... It's a UNION. Reps are obligated to do this, as they are paid to bring to attention what is in the best interest of thier members. They have a P.A., so you muttle under your breath how you think it's wrong?
