Recession Hits Hard for Charitable Housing Program

Cynthia Hunt is the gatekeeper. She buzzes people in and greets them with a smile before going back to her duties counseling former drug addicts. Hunt works within a tiny world of pastel cottages, picnic tables, and little green trees. This odd place is known fondly to residents as Quinn Cottages, named after is founder Francis Quinn. Saving K Street

Development on the old railroad yard has now begun in downtown Sacramento. To many in the capitol city, this is a sign of great new development and a brighter future for Sacramento. With the available space we have the potential to nearly double the size of downtown. This does, however, raise new concerns for the already existing problems in the downtown area, most notably the future of K Street. The dying remnants of the K Street strip in the heart of Sacramento have become the greatest disappointments since Krispy Kreme.
