Stella, Thanks for the introduction. For years Sacramento and the rest of the US has struggled for a better scene for electronic music, ask anyone, better yet don't. This year, 2009 has sparked an interest in a lot of us, who are now over our 30's. Music, especially electronic music has grown tremendously and with great energy worldwide. Over shadowed in Sacramento and shun by hip hop, top 40s and mainstream music, the underground aka house music was and has been the black sheep. A wave of uneducated people came from post MTV(is that still around?) and Roseville Bar anthems ready to party, they never experienced partying, the "GOOD" partying we know of. They don't know how to dance, they don't know how to socially interact outside of their circle of friends, they only know what's on mainstream radio and TV. Did they come grow up in the 80's, did they follow early New York Disco and House, did they follow the early days of Detroit Techno. Do they know real art, jazz, dance, graffiti, fashion and culture? Of course not, they're from the greater Sacramento area, how would they? But! We are California's capital and should start acting like it in this arena. It's all good, we're not judging not complaining (It is, what it is). Honestly, we're misrepresented by lack of educated and experienced people in this area and future areas. After seeing what the rest of the world does, the potential this type of music has, not only with audio but visual arts, all nightlife/entertainment/educated seekers will be exploring this topic, diligently. (followers? leaders?) After 2003 we saw a new day of music, old and new artists emerging taking back what was once theirs. Why is this relevant to Sacramento? Easy, so much potential for this city's new growth, you'll be covering this next year, mark my words. Visao has been traveling world from Paris to London to Spain, New York and Miami, making connections with global DJs, global media sites and focused on creative growth in technology and science. We are interested in progressing media arts in the community, peroid.
