The old pathway had huge chunks of asphalt missing, a decrepit and rusty chain link fence, overgrown weeds, no lighting and no clear visibility from the surrounding streets.
Why do you two want to silence potential whistle blowers?
Except that's not the policies they are advocating. They ARE advocating to sleep in tents on dirty lots. (My guess is that doesn't make for the most effective rallying cry)
I think you and others are tying to say that the article would be more effective if it didn't include the inflammatory references to communism. Most people rightly thing that communist are seen as a joke in American politics. But that's not to say that folks with communist leanings or are indeed self identified communists have completely disappeared from the scene. Mr. Armstrong did an excellent job tying Paul Boden and Ethel Long-Scott to the Sacramento Homeless Organizing Committee, Loaves and Fishes and the "Safe Ground" crowd. They WANT homeless people to remain unhoused because they can then say "Capitalism is bad, just look at all the homeless people living on the street." In a way they're right, because one of the very unfortunate outcomes of capitalism is that some people are not going to be able to hack it. Fortunately, we live in a very compassionate country because government and individuals are generous to those who need some help. How best to help them is really the question. Do we want to put them in tents on dirty lots with no social workers to help them improve their conditions? Or do we want to build safe affordable housing units and staff them with on site supportive care so eventually they move into their own place and start leading productive lives? It's time to start taking folks who advocate for the former out of the discussion.
Your efforts to try to tie everything to Kevin Johnson is becoming comical. I think I might try and compile all your post into one place and submit them to the producers of A&E's "Obsessed."
