Business Community steps up to raise funds for WEAVE

On April 8th members of the business community and leaders from the California State Government joined together to raise awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County.   Presenting sponsor, Accenture, and 22 other corporate supporters hosted “Break the Cycle.  Build a Connection” at the California Museum. Dignitaries in attendance included Senate President proTem and Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters. Event chair Gail Gregori created the event as a response to WEAVE’s struggle to ensure that life-saving and changing services remain available to families in need during these challenging economic times. Asian Resources Lunar New Year Dinner Fundraiser

Each year the Lunar New Year dinner raises funds to continue the Summer Youth Program. This year, on March 25th, Asian Resources honored California Controller John Chiang, Sierra Health Foundation and Ofa Mann for their leadership and commitment to the community with Acting Lieutenant Governor Mona Pasquil as the Special Guest.   Asian Resources, Inc. SARTA's Med Tech Showcase 2010

On March 30th, SARTA drew together 300 members of the Sacramento region's medical device and medical technology sector at Sacramento State University.  The event featured the inaugural Claire Pomeroy Awards for Innovation in Medical Technology, the Next Wave Med Tech Innovators Challenge, a panel of venture capital investors from the Bay Area, a historical display of medical technology, and a concluding reception featuring 50 exhibitors. RETIRE YOUR ATTIRE DRIVE HELPS REDUCE BARRIERS FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

 On March 24th representatives from Nissan, WEAVE and Capital Public Radio met with key supporters of the 13th Annual Nissan Retire Your Attire Clothing Drive to accept donations of apparel for WEAVE’s Suited for Success program. During the 10 day drive Capitol staffers and elected officials donated thousands of suits, dresses, shirts, shoes and ties to be distributed to victims of domestic violence who are reentering the workforce and working to rebuild their lives. Sacramento Hispanic Chamber 38th Annual Business Awards & Recognition Gala

 Over 700 business, community, and political leaders gathered at the Sacramento Convention Center to celebrate 38 years of service of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The 2010 Business Award winners were also honored that evening as well as Astronaut Jose Hernandez who is the first recipient of the Unity Award.     Astronaut Jose Hernandez, keynote speaker, honored the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with a photo collage of his first mission to the International Space Station autographed by the crew patch aboard the United Space Shuttle Discovery.  His message was inspirational and moved over 700 guests who attended this memorable event. Metro Chamber honors Sacramentan of the Year

Celebrating the region's top businesses, more than a thousand people gathered Friday night, February 5, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento for the Sacramento Metro Chamber's 115th Annual Dinner & Business Awards.   The Metro Chamber honored David M. Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner

The Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce’s 17th Annual Installation Dinner was held Feb. 4th at the Sheraton in downtown Sacramento. Sacramento Metro Chamber State Legislative Summit

 Sacramento Metro Chamber’s advocacy day represents the interests of business to state government The annual Sacramento Metro Chamber State Legislative Summit on Jan. 27 convened 100-plus of the region’s business leaders to the State Capitol to advocate on issues that will build jobs and business prosperity, from tax credits for angel investments in qualified small business stocks, to fast track of regulatory changes to enhance competition with other states.
