text-autospace:none"&gt;On April 8th members of the business community and leaders from the California State Government joined together to raise awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Presenting sponsor, Accenture, and 22 other corporate supporters hosted “&lt;i&gt;Break the Cycle.&amp;nbsp; Build a Connection”&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:normal"&gt; at the California Museum. Dignitaries in attendance included Senate President proTem and Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters. Event chair Gail Gregori created the event as a response to WEAVE’s struggle to ensure that life-saving and changing services remain available to families in need during these challenging economic times.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Each year the Lunar New Year dinner raises funds&amp;nbsp;to continue&amp;nbsp;the Summer Youth Program. This year, on March 25th, Asian Resources honored&amp;nbsp;California Controller John Chiang, Sierra Health Foundation and Ofa Mann for their leadership and commitment to the community with Acting Lieutenant Governor Mona Pasquil as the Special Guest. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; 
&lt;p&gt;Asian Resources, Inc. (ARI)&amp;nbsp;is a non-profit community based organization established in 1980 dedicated to providing multiple social services needed in the community, empowering everyone&amp;nbsp;to become a vital part of&amp;nbsp;the changing, diverse society.&lt;/p&gt;

    <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;On March 30th, SARTA drew together 300 members of the Sacramento region's medical device and medical technology sector at Sacramento State University. &amp;nbsp;The event featured the inaugural Claire Pomeroy Awards for Innovation in Medical Technology, the Next Wave Med Tech Innovators Challenge, a panel of venture capital investors from the Bay Area, a historical display of medical technology, and a concluding reception featuring 50 exhibitors.&lt;/p&gt; 
&lt;p&gt;SARTA is a nonprofit organization founded to foster entrepreneurial growth and attract investment capital to the high-technology business sector in the greater Sacramento region through pubic and private alliances.&lt;/p&gt;

    <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;On March 24th&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;representatives from Nissan, WEAVE and Capital Public Radio met with key supporters of the 13th&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;Annual Nissan Retire Your Attire Clothing Drive to accept donations of apparel for WEAVE’s&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;Suited for Success&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;program. During the 10 day drive Capitol staffers and elected officials donated thousands of suits, dresses, shirts, shoes and ties to be distributed to victims of domestic violence who are reentering the workforce and working to rebuild their lives.&lt;/p&gt; 
&lt;p&gt;Beth Hassett, Executive Director of WEAVE, was overwhelmed by the generosity of the Capitol community this year and by the support members have shown for domestic violence services. On March 25th&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;the boxes of clothes will be transported from the Capitol building, local Nissan dealerships and Capital Public Radio to WEAVE’s&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;Suited for Success&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;program site. The clothing will be distributed over the year to men and women who seek services through the program.&lt;/p&gt;

The 2010 Business Award winners were also honored that evening as well as Astronaut Jose Hernandez who is the first recipient of the Unity Award. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Astronaut Jose Hernandez, keynote speaker, honored the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with a photo collage of his first mission to the International Space Station autographed by the crew patch aboard the United Space Shuttle Discovery. &amp;nbsp;His message was inspirational and moved over 700 guests who attended this memorable event.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;SARTA's 7th Annual Tech Index Celebration drew a crowd of nearly 450 to the Sacramento Hyatt Regency on Wednesday, February 17. &amp;nbsp;The audience learned of UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi's vision for the future of our local top-ranked research institution, and was motivated, educated, and inspired by Kevin Surace, Chairman and CEO of Serious Materials, and Inc. Magazine's 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year. &amp;nbsp;The region's fifty top technology companies, members of SARTA's quarterly Tech Index, were honored for their accomplishments and leadership. &amp;nbsp;SARTA's Tech Index is the only one of its kind in the country, and serves as a barometer for the health of the technology sector in our region.     <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;The Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce’s 17th Annual Installation Dinner was held Feb. 4th at the Sheraton in downtown Sacramento. Over 600 guests enjoyed passionate speeches by guest George Takei and 2010 SACC Honoree, West Sacramento Mayor, Christopher Cabaldon who focused on the power of strong leadership. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; 
&lt;p&gt;The SACC was honored to present the &amp;nbsp;2010 awardees: Kaiser Permanente (Corporate Steward Award); Fast Signs of Elk Grove (Small Business Award); Asian Resources (Vu Nguyen Heroism Award) and Megan Franks, Rancho Cordova Marriott (Ambassador of the Year). The SACC Installation Dinner is held each February and includes the installation of new Board Members of the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce.”&lt;/p&gt;

    <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:ArialMT"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Sacramento Metro Chamber’s advocacy day represents the interests of business to state government &lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:ArialMT"&gt;The annual&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://www.metrochamber.org/"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000CFF"&gt;Sacramento Metro Chamber&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; State Legislative Summit&amp;nbsp;on Jan. 27 convened 100-plus of the region’s business leaders to the State Capitol to advocate on &lt;a href="http://bit.ly/SummitIssues"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000CFF"&gt;issues&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; that will build jobs and business prosperity, from tax credits for angel investments in qualified small business stocks, to fast track of regulatory changes to enhance competition with other states. Keynote speaker was State Insurance Commissioner and GOP gubernatorial candidate &lt;a href="http://www.stevepoizner.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000CFF"&gt;Steve Poizner&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, who detailed his plan for putting California back on fiscal track. In all, Metro Chamber participants logged 45 meetings with legislators or their staff. Afterwards, they mingled at a reception to honor the elected officials.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
