Omri Casspi: You became the first player from Israel to play in the NBA and scored 17 points in your debut against the Oklahoma City Thunder. How does it feel to represent Israel in the NBA and how special was that night for you knowing that your fans were watching in Israel?

Casspi: A year ago you were still playing basketball overseas. How different is the NBA compared to playing in Israel?

Tyreke Evans: Last Friday, your assignment was to guard, who is widely considered the best point guard in the NBA, Chris Paul. You took out a major facet of his game by limiting him to four assists and he turned the ball over four times. How did it feel to go against a top five player in the league?

Kevin Martin: You've played with this team through the pre-season and for three regular season games. What is different about this year's team?

Martin: How has Tyreke Evans impacted the way you play?

Desmond Mason: In the first two games against the Thunder and the New Orleans Hornets you were in familiar places because you played for both teams. You also played at the Ford Center for the Hornets when they were displaced because of Hurricane Katrina. You saw a lot of familiar faces on both teams. What did it feel like going into those two games?

Mason: There's a video on YouTube where you do a rap for the Hornets. Do you have any plans for making one for the Kings, especially while Flavor Flav is in town?

Sean May: At 6'9, your starting at center, which seems short compared to many other NBA teams. You usually play power forward, are you accustomed to playing against other centers?

May: You've missed a lot of games due to injury and weight issues, but you came to training camp in great shape, you've played well and you're starting now. Do you feel like you have something to prove? Why or why not?

Francisco Garcia: Your arm injury sidelined you until the NBA All-Star break but your impact can still be felt with you mentoring Omri Casspi, even before the injury. Why did you take him under your wing?

Garcia: What do you like about Casspi's game?

Jason Thompson: You've had some tough assignments early this season playing Emeka Okafor, David West, Zach Randolph and, who is widely considered the greatest power forward ever to play, Tim Duncan. What have you learned from playing against them?

Thompson, May, Garcia, Donte Greene: Many athletes use Twitter to interact with their followers. What's your view on using Twitter?

Thompson, May, Gacia, Greene: Do you think the NBA established fair restrictions on the use of Twitter?

Rookies: What have you learned in your short time in the league?

Any Player: What is your role for the team?

Any player: How has the revamped coaching staff helped you so far?

- Do you have a pre-game ritual/meal before every game? If so, could you please share?

- Most Embarassing moment on the court?

- Did anyone inspire you to play ball growing up? If so, who?

- What is the weirdest thing a fan asked you to sign?

- Sacramento loves our team and our players. Do you get stopped alot around town by fans like myself and talk to you like you are long lost friends?

- Do you read articles about the team and yourself? If I had a regular article on Sacramento Press on the Kings where I would rip or praise the team based on performance, would you ever gloss over it?

- How do you feel about me as Joe Fan interviewing you right now over news scribe that writes about you for a living?

- Us fans didn't see last year's record coming. What can the fans expect from this year's team??

To Tyreke Evans: Do you see yourself in 5 years playing Point Guard or Shooting Guard? When Beno Udrih and you are both on the court, he is the Point Guard and you are the Shooting Guard, do you prefer that dynamic? Especially with Kevin Martin playing the small forward?

To Any Kings Player: Who would you say is the best defensive stopper on the team?

To Jason Thompson: You are the teams Power Forward, but with Sean May starting at Center, you will be the tallest player on the court for the Kings, do you see yourself using that to be more defensive minded - such as going for more blocked shots and rebounds? Which Kings player do you most enjoy battling for rebounds against in practice?

To Kevin Martin: How is your ankle??? Hypothetical question, with 2 seconds left on the clock, you are at the top of the key, do you go for the shot or try to get fouled and go to the line?

Perhaps the best known (and fan favorite) Sacramento kings team was the 2001-2002. It was the year that all the players came together on and off the court. It made their play exciting to watch and, more importantly, it was the first time that the Sacramento fans had a reason to "Believe". How can this team re-create that sense of excitement and make Arco the loudest arena in the NBA again?

Thanks Sacramento Press for writing the article telling us where all of the KINGS players were going to be this weekend during Paint The Town PURPLE! My boyfriend and I had an awesome time running around to all of the different sites to see all of our favorite KINGS players! We met, took pictures and got autographs from Tyreke Evans and Lanny Smith at Wells Fargo on Friday, Omri Casspi and Donte' Green in Old Sacramento on Saturday, and Spencer Hawes, Jon Brockman, Jason Thompson and Desmond Mason at Second Saturday in Midtown Sacramento!

It was SOOOOO cool to meet our favorite KINGS players up close and in person! We've never had an opportunity like that before, and to meet EIGHT players in two days, was so great!! We had so much fun! All the players were really nice and friendly and we think they're great! Paint The Town PURPLE is a really good event, and we hope it continues every year, because it is so important for the players to get out and meet the fans, and for us to show our support for our KINGS team!

We're going to try to make it out to more games this season, since we got to meet most of the KINGS players! We also had fun with the Sacramento KINGS Dance Team and Slamson! AND your very own Tina Armour interviewed me while I was in line waiting to meet Jason Thompson at Second Saturday! She was really nice!
So THANKS AGAIN for letting us know where they were going to be! We had a great weekend!
GO KINGS!!!

Separating government functions from economic functions was typically why state capitals aren't always in the biggest city in the state: as David mentions, it helps balance state government's interests between the big economic centers and the resource-rich hinterlands. In Sacramento, it had more to do with Sacramento's growing role as a transportation and communications center (although at the time we didn't have much more than the river, some trails to the diggings, and the beginnings of a railroad to Folsom.) We are actually the fourth state capital: San Jose, Benicia and Vallejo were all tried (not counting Monterey, capital during the Mexican period,) but were considered too remote compared to Sacramento. Remember, at the time, Sacramento was the second biggest city in California (and was until the 1870s and the first Los Angeles land boom.)

The capital was temporarily relocated to San Francisco in 1862 due to the massive flood in Sacramento that year, but improved flood control measures (including our famous raised streets) helped secure our spot as the permanent capital city.

Incidentally, the whole "capital/capitol" thing: A capital is a city serving as the seat of government. A capitol is the building (or group of buildings) in that city where the government headquarters is located. So the capitol is in the capital!

Heck, take it further: Tallahassee, not Miami; Austin, not Dallas or Houston; Springfield, not Chicago. Hello all! I just wanted to take a moment to say hi and to wish everyone a very Merry X-Mas and to let you know how much all of your positive comments and energy mean to us, to Cheng and to his family. It truly means the world. On that note, Chi's condition still remains about the same. I wish I could elaborate, but there's not to much to add at this time, other than I know he's pissed and wants the fuck outta' that hospital......................for real, this I know.

.....................that being said, on a night like tonight, I hope that everybody is warm and with the people that they love. Here's to all of you and here's to a wonderful and extremely Happy and Healthy New Year!!!!!!

Hello,

Chi remains in a coma, and as of this morning there's been no significant change in his condition. Last week he was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and transferred to a brain rehabilitation hospital in Northern California. The hospital specializes in the care and management of traumatic and non-trauma related brain injuries with a team of highly skilled therapists, nurses and consultants. He's in great hands.

Please continue to pray for our brother, and thank you all for your love and support.

Hello Friends,

My apologies for the delay in updates. Chi's condition remains the same - serious, but stable. He still lies in a coma, however his vitals (heart, lungs, and blood pressure) all exhibit very stable functions and doctors have begun removing much of the excess monitoring equipment. Chi remains strong in his fight to recover.

Winston Churchill once said, "Never give in - in nothing, great or small, large or petty, except to convictions of honour and good sense." Today, please be especially aware of your personal choices. Never give in to pressure and try not to be discouraged. Your good choices each day will bring good things back to you and create a better life for you and yours.

Moving forward, I will be creating a new blog dedicated to my daily updates. It will take me a few days to get this up and running, so please bear with me. Deftones will continue to update you on Chi's condition when there’s a significant change in his condition.

Thank you again for keeping Chi in your prayers. It's keeping all of is strong.

Our love to you all,

new update-

Hello Everyone,

Chi's condition is stable, with no real change since yesterday. Our gratitude to all of you for your encouragement and willingness to wait for him. Chi had been at the coast with a few of his siblings and I and forgot to bring the last book he bought. The book, Wake Up by Jack Kerouac, has been brought to the hospital by his wife and we are all reading it to him.

Today's assignment is to be a the sister, brother, and mother to all. When you have an action to take, try to do with that in your mind through your day. You will be continuing the good work done for all of us and our extended family.

What a comfort this is to me and mine. You are so awesome! Please keep the prayers coming! Buckle-up and designate a driver if you want to party. Some lives will be saved today with this small change.

All My Love and Respect,
Jeanne

Chi Update 11/10/08
As you can see from last night's additional update, Chi is showing definite signs of improvement. His father expects when he fully awakes, they'll have to sedate him (again) so he doesn't start pulling out the tubes and wires from his body.

"Again you all are so very much appreciated. God has his hand on our son, please continue to lift him in prayer. For today please forgive someone who has wronged you or wronged yours. Not forgiving is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die. Please continue to stay buckled, show love and spread kindness throughout the day to those around you".
