Comedian Shayla Rivera will be coming to Sacramento on Feb. 17 for a four-night run of comedy shows at the Punchline Comedy Club. This is Rivera’s first time performing at Punchline Comedy Club. She said she has performed once in Sacramento years ago, but she is still new to the city. “It’s fun for a comedian to go to a city for a first time,” Rivera said. “Sacramento is going to be a special treat for me. I plan to stick my head everywhere.” A self-proclaimed history buff, Rivera said she is excited to see the different buildings and learn more about the history of Sacramento. Valentine’s Day has traditionally been celebrated with a simple dinner for two. Couples exchange cards professing their appreciation for one another, gift the usual candy and jewelery and call it a day. As Valentine’s Day draws closer, many people are looking to celebrate that special day in a more memorable way. Sacramento has a number of exciting events and specials to choose from on Valentine’s Day and the weekend prior. While many make reservations at their favorite restaurants, why not book a Valentine’s Day Lovers’ Cruise, provided by Hornblower Cruises, for a change? “Sacramento’s Cupid’s Valentine’s Weekend Brunch Cruise,” on Sunday, is a two-hour cruise departing from the L-S

One student did not show up to the competition. This year’s winner, Brittany Wiltz, a 16-year-old from Natomas Charter School, and runner-up, Ashay Kobelt, from Elk Grove High School, will be competing in the state finals on March 20 and 21 in Sa
It's really refreshing to see that the mayor has made so many plans that will not only, cater to the citizens of Sacramento and but, will also benefit the city of Sacramento. How does he plan to double the number of green jobs in the region? What process is he going to take to make that possible? Where is the funding coming from to ensure that these plans can be implemented? I'm also interested to see why he is focusing his educational efforts on third graders only, or if he is planning to work with children from every grade.
What political fundraising group leased next door to the dispensary? It's especially interesting that a Republican political group is leasing next door: how do they personally feel about the dispensary, were they aware of the dispensary being located there before signing the lease?
Conversation about: Councilmember steps in to save Heritage Trees
Wow the removal of 57 trees? Are there other environmental associations that are aware of this plan that have also been protesting against the removal? How are the trees contaminated and how can this be harmful if the trees aren't cut down?
