It's simple people. It's all about the music. Steve Perry was great, but chooses not to be a part of the music world anymore for whatever reason. I am glad that Neal Schon has decided to continue with this band and allow me to enjoy some of my most favorite music in a live setting.
As for false advertisement, Steve Perry has not been with Journey since 1996. If you or anyone had no idea of this fact, especially with all the media coverage just since Pineda joined alone, it is your own fault. Journey had a wonderful singer named Steve Augerie from 1998 to approx.2007. His tenure in the band Journey was longer than Steve Perry's.
I don't mean to diss Mr. Perry here. The man was/is an incredible talent. But the bottom line is that he chooses to stay out of the music business, out of the band Journey, and out of the public eye. His choice, so to berate the rest of the band from doing what they enjoy and earning a living playing and performing the songs they wrote/co-wrote is just petty. And to do this on a board discussing a charity concert is even lower.
