Thank God for small miracles!!! This guy was/is not qualified to lead a city this size. His lack of leadership is largely to blame for the dysfunctional council. It is time for council to come together and agree on a STRONG city manager that can lead the city and move this city forward. They should start by looking right w/i @ Gus Vina who is extremely qualified and has a financial background. As I have been saving..."Sacramento needs a STRONG city manager, not a strong mayor." I wish Mr. Kerridge the best in a job suited for his qualifications, but his resignation was way overdue as he and his buddy Billy Boy Thomas have driven this city to the ground.
Thank God for answered prayer!!! We need a STRONG city managerm not a strong mayor!
Yeah - They need to start by getting rid of Denny Walsh their court reporter who sleeps during the case & then makes up the stories.
The FPP can work, but it is not a "Carte Blanche do do whatever developers/builders want w/o oversight! First, when the program was implemented in Sacramento, it was done by new comers Ray Kerridge and bill Thomas, who at the time were supposed to be the greatest thing since slice bread and were trying to impress the "development community". well, you have to start by looking at who brought them to town - It was Friedman and the chamber of commerce who wanted someone to do away with regulations that got in their way. Hence the FPP. Secondly, these guys just simply went too far! They created an environment within the building & planning divisions whereby regulations were put aside anytime someone complained that they did not like something or that they were being enforced upon. This was done w/o any regard for public safety, legal requirements or consideration for financial lost. in other words - Sacramento's regulatory process became non-existent. Third, now you have a situation where this developers that have gotten use to the freebies see them going away and they are upset. What the public has to understand is, that most of these guys are from out of town and all they are interested in is their pocket not the safety of the public. Thank God for Eileen Teichert who has stood firm with both the city folks and the developers and is holding them to at least the very minimum standards We can not continue to build entire buildings in the city, like TGI Fridays & Sonic Burger w/o permits. Time for Sacramento to clean house from the city m,anager to all management at community development!
The FPP program was initiated by KerRIDge and Billi Boy Thomas in order to take care of those that brought them to town...None other than Mr. Friedman himself. If you do the research, you will find that the first beneficiaries of said program was Friedman's Arden Fair mall. By KJ's statement he is basically saying that some of his buddies are being affected by the program being gone and he is going to look for every way possible to bring it back so the belly aching can stop. These flakes have to understand that the law applies to them also and codes exist in order to safeguard the public's health, safety & welfare, not to line their pockets. So get used to it!!!
