The Sacramento Press is giving away two ipod shuffles.

Here are the rules of the game.

1. Read the article on the Crocker Art Museum's new wing by Suzanne Hurt posted here on sacramentopress.com 06/05/09.

2. Join the conversation by posting a comment on the article.

3. Invite your friends who are not yet community contributers to sign up for sacramentopress.com [free]. Matt Kennedy just got a vote.

5. The person who gets the most votes wins two ipod shuffles. One for you and one for a very happy friend.

6. Contest begins 06/06/09 and ends 06/12/09 @ noon. The winner will be announced on sacramentopress.com

Does the biker ride their own bike? No we customize the bicycle and trailer. We work closely with Signs By Tomorrow building custom wraps and marketing panels for each specific bike.

Do they get paid to ride the bike? Yes, but riding is only part of the job. Shuckers also interact with the public while answering questions and introducing people to SacPress. They also communicate with our editorial staff and report breaking news.

What kind of trailer is that? It is a B.O.B trailer

How many miles does the biker travel in a day? We have been recording this number and currently we average about 25-30 miles a day.

Its is very interesting to hear people talk about there experience with the site just four months after launch. I met a few community contributers and a couple familiar faces from the local media world. With the weather teasing like its Spring people were out and about this Second Saturday and I hope you stopped by and said hello!

If you are wondering how that compares to others go to twitter.com and search for "Sacramento". We are the number one tweet and in the second position are the Sacramento Kings with nearly half the followers.

This is not a quick article to boast our accomplishments, I write about how we market this company to the Sacramento community and twitter is a very important tool in our department. We use lots of social networking sites to reach out to our readers but as twitter grows its numbers its becoming a very unique tool. We use it to push content out, begin conversations, recruit readers and writers, hold contests, live blog on breaking news and many other uses.

Seems pretty normal, but in my world its a bit more interesting. We created green stickers a little while back, and a few of the people who work at sacpress have them on their bikes like spoke cards, just for fun. So to see this extend outside of our small staff is so neat!

The interesting part is I have know idea who this bike belonged to, a complete win in my world. As we use the "bicycle" more and more in our marketing its fun to see the cycling community embrace what it is we are doing.

My parent live in a very rural area in El Dorado County and they cut down a tree on there property every year. They basically call it "clearing" but they have 20 acres so it will be a lot of Christmas holidays before they ever buy a tree.
This year it was a Ponderosa that sprouted off the side of the drive way and they thought its roots might effect the concrete over time. Not the worst way to do it I guess. Great article Sarah!

Hello all! I just wanted to take a moment to say hi and to wish everyone a very Merry X-Mas and to let you know how much all of your positive comments and energy mean to us, to Cheng and to his family. It truly means the world. On that note, Chi's condition still remains about the same. I wish I could elaborate, but there's not to much to add at this time, other than I know he's pissed and wants the fuck outta' that hospital......................for real, this I know.

.....................that being said, on a night like tonight, I hope that everybody is warm and with the people that they love. Here's to all of you and here's to a wonderful and extremely Happy and Healthy New Year!!!!!!

Much love,

Close enough, I really liked this one because it has so many layers of grime, paint, rust, spray paint, and more paint. Its like a battle that will never end. The interesting thing to me is that in the end it will never be the brick it was, so masking it in small blocks of different colors just makes it look even cooler! In no way do I think its right to destroy someone's property but find it funny the way its taken care of.

Hello,

Chi remains in a coma, and as of this morning there's been no significant change in his condition. Last week he was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and transferred to a brain rehabilitation hospital in Northern California. The hospital specializes in the care and management of traumatic and non-trauma related brain injuries with a team of highly skilled therapists, nurses and consultants. He's in great hands.

Please continue to pray for our brother, and thank you all for your love and support.

Hello Friends,

My apologies for the delay in updates. Chi's condition remains the same - serious, but stable. He still lies in a coma, however his vitals (heart, lungs, and blood pressure) all exhibit very stable functions and doctors have begun removing much of the excess monitoring equipment. Chi remains strong in his fight to recover.

Winston Churchill once said, "Never give in - in nothing, great or small, large or petty, except to convictions of honour and good sense." Today, please be especially aware of your personal choices. Never give in to pressure and try not to be discouraged. Your good choices each day will bring good things back to you and create a better life for you and yours.

Moving forward, I will be creating a new blog dedicated to my daily updates. It will take me a few days to get this up and running, so please bear with me. Deftones will continue to update you on Chi's condition when there’s a significant change in his condition.

Thank you again for keeping Chi in your prayers. It's keeping all of is strong.

Our love to you all,
Jeanne

It is nice to feel like people are looking out for you and your business, and that is what's great about developing community.

While watching Mayor Kevin Johnson speak in clear but emotive language on television, it is clear he is ready to start his new position with a full head of steam.

With the American flag draped behind him he said, "We did it, I'm ready and I know you are too, and that's what it's going to need to take place. Incredible public will amongst the citizens, needs to occur for us to make real change in Sacramento."

After the confetti fell and the people left Memorial Auditorium, Kevin Johnson's personal inaugural party was held at Randy Parygary's new K street venture, Cosmo and Social. I spoke with Parygary and asked how excited he was to have the new mayors inaugural party at his location.

"It's definitely more exciting to have the change of leadership than opening a new place," Parygary said.

When asked if the Johnson administration believes in pumping life back into K street, Parygary responded, "I know Kevin does, there is a lot of excitement about Kevin's election and his energy and what he is bringing to Sacramento and K street is a big part of it."

I went up stairs to Social and enjoyed the food and drinks and watched the crowd swarm our new mayor with hugs, tears and congratulations.

The mood was very upbeat and there was a great deal of optimism both in the crowd and in the candidate. The candidate is facing a tough situation coming into office, hopefully his powerful optimism will translate into bold leadership.

Chi Update 11-18

Our love to you all,
Jeanne
