The bar scean in Sac was hot in the 70's. There were neighborhood bars that served free food. Rosies on 12th & I had a free spaghetti dinner every Friday, Little Joes in South Sac had free chili or soup every night. The Picaddily on Folsom Blvd had a cold cut buffet on Sundays during football games. All free. The Village Club on 20tt & O had free stale pretzels. The Stardust on Freeport Blvd in the 60's had a great little Italian deli next store where you could get everything from ravioli pasta to huge Italian NY style hoagies. Then there were great neighborhood joints like Rainey's, The Round Corner, Original Shakey's Pizza, The TNT Club, and out on Stockton Blvd The Barrell Club and Boston's. You could dance until early morning hours at the Trophy Room or Tropicana. Todays bars, clubs have little chracter.
