Conversation about: Art installed in Terminal B, opens Oct. 6

You will all be in awe once the pieces are in front of your own eye's. I myself am not an "artsy" type person, although I can appreciate the vision's of some artists with the creations I see around. The pieces out here are more than just looking at something, you actually experience them while looking at them, which is the feeling I believe most of the artist had when creating them.

Conversation about: A look inside Sacramento International's Terminal B

The APM's will be moving from building to building every 2-3 minutes, so they won't slow down the process of getting to the gates at all. The reason behind them, as for most airports using them, is for the 1st level of security, as only ticketed passengers can board. I've been working out here on the project, and it's been a great experience, and it will become a gem for Sacramento for many years to come. Anyone with a negative outlook on the new terminal, in my opinion, will soon change their views once they have experienced "the flow" of getting in and out of the airport, either as a traveler or just to pick up/drop off someone who is traveling. The touch screen digital kiosks for visitors will be loaded with all kinds of useful information, and also the self check-in kiosk for those with electronic tickets will cut down on the lines the current terminal is famous for.

Conversation about: Power Balance arena pros and cons

My point was, the Magoofs own the Arco Arena and make money off of events such as concerts, mud drags, monstter truck pulls, whatever it may be. They are making money on ALL CONCESSIONS, ALL PARKING, with the city getting NONE OF IT. Now, if they get an arena deal the way they want, they will be pretty much leasing a place that allows their basketball team to play games at, and thats it. They will make their money on the gate and team store sales. They will not get a cent from anything else in a new arena For the life of me, I dont know why they wouldnt have INVESTED some money into the arena, knowing they had a full monopoly on the situation, and invested some in the team. BUT, now after their true finances came to light, they didnt have anything to invest, even after cutting the team cost for 5 straight years. Then they used that to say we couldnt or didnt support their crappy ass team.... Like any business, you must invest to be rewarded for the work put in, something daddy wasnt around to tell them.

Conversation about: Power Balance arena pros and cons

Karen, it is because the Maloofs let the place degrade to what it has with the intention of continuing to use the condition of the place as a reason for leaving. They cut cost on all aspects of the team. Look at what OAKLAND did with the EXISTING arena. They fully gutted the interior of the building, plumbing, electrical, sound, EVERYTHING, leaving only the outside shell as it was. They paid a firm to come up with a plan that would utilize the space it had, but in doing so, able to build twice the amount of suites it had, raise the capacity of seats to almost 2000, build concessions that fit every need in the place, and also continue to keep the closeness to the game. Now, if youve never attended a basketball game at Staple Center in LA, imagine watching a basketball game in a football stadium. That is how it seems. At Arco, there is not a bad seat in that place, and it rocks!

Conversation about: Men in Heels - More photos

Well Deb, I participated in the event (I'm in the photo 4th from the bottom in the afro wig, haha) and I can honestly say that no, I don't have any blisters, but the front of my feet still hurt today from being crammed into that little "V" front of the shoe. OUCH Although I also completed 6 laps instead of the required 3, so I am to blame for my suffering also, but Its all worth it for the cause.

Conversation about: Kings to stay in Sacramento – for now

- - "The owners of the Sacramento Kings HAVE DECIDED to keep the team here for at least the next season" - - "Fan support and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's push to get a new arena built were instrumental in the decision" BS!! They are staying in Sacramento for another year because THE NBA TOLD THEM they would be! We know damn well had the NBA committee approved the move, The Magoofs would have the loading vans at the Arco Arena next weekend, and then heading down south. This PR release is simply an attempt at some damage control, knowing that they will now need to reley on the fans they had used as a scapegoat for their own financial downfalls. Now, they are having their hands held by the NBA, and I love it!
