Hey Friends, that's not a "flash mob" that's my grandma!

Our daughter was asked to come and sing by her high school choir and we had heard of these “Random Acts of Culture” in other communities. We understood that the singing was being organized by the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra, so we thought it would be a fun, family thing to do. We’ve had it on our calendar for weeks. My point, once again, is simply that these people did not come to cause harm and could not possibly have known that their very presence would be a problem. While they continue to be demonized, please try to remember that many of them were ASKED to come by their schools and choirs. Further, the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra could not possibly have known the GREAT numbers of people who wanted to come and sing the Hallelujah Chorus. That fact alone bothers many for sure and I can’t help but laugh at all the double standards.

Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra organized this as a "Random Act of Culture” These "Random Acts of Culture" have been done in many locations across the country. To my knowledge they have not been considered "reckless"...except in Sacramento....

You suggest, "There is a need for some control" Who would "control" this? Are you suggesting that govt. should take control of groups like the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra...really? Do you think they are "reckless?" And what about all the other symphonies and choirs across our country organizing, "Random Acts of Culture?” Should they be controlled as well, just in case their event is too popular? What’s next, college protests? What if too many students come out to protest or support a cause? Should they be controlled in case the event is too popular and too many students want to come and join the cause? In my mind the simple answer to those questions is, no way! This is a free country...
