About MeMy wife and I run Movies on a Big Screen - an on-going weekly film screening series/on-going film festival in Sacramento which began in 2006, currently just on Friday evenings, consisting of documentaries, general independent film, classics and cult. We try to bring titles here that would not otherwise have screenings in Sacramento. Actually, the first movie shown at MOBS was We Jam Econo, a documentary on the diy punk band Minutemen. It was kind of a thematic fit with what MOBS would be.
To clarify, KDVS has simply been a supporter of Movies on a Big Screen (there is no direct involvement), and sometimes plugs what MOBS will be showing. The music was compiled by MOBS, and was pre-1982 Japanese new wave and punk. All songs selected have never been released in the US. The slideshow before the film consisted of titles that have shown at Movies on a Big Screen over the years. For the record, Easter Sunday School at MOBS is "recommended for sinners 18 years of age and older." While everything being shown was material that children had to watch at one time, that doesn't mean that it actually IS appropriate for all ages...
