Apologize for not getting the information to you on Wednesday night. The forum you are referring to will be co hosted by the Downtown Sacramento PArtnership, The Midtown Business Association, the Greater Broadway Partnership and the Old Sacramento Business Association. The forum is scheduled for Monday April 30th at the Cosmopolitan Cabaret Theater from 5:30 to 7. We just recently obtained confirmation on the facility and are reaching out to the neighborhood groups and other central city stakeholders. All are welcome!
I am aware of one Indian place within a mile...please inform me of the other 3. I love indian food and look forward to trying the other options. Thanks.
Thank you Bill for your comments. Ahhh, the fallacy of free parking!!
Amen...if anything we have a parking management problem and we should be charging more "market based" pricing. Parking is a commodity that is subsidized (indirectly) by the general fund (just like streets and highways) and should reflect actual costs. Also better management would create a better parking environment that ensures occupancy rates that would be good for businesses and residents.
Thank you for your comment, you are correct. This will be a right of way that will be shared by transit, autos, bicycles and pedestrians (with almost half reserved for pedestrians, 46%) an actual complete street. I have lived downtown for 9 years without a vehicle and am not particularly a fan of the car, however i am also not living with the illusion that cars will be disappearing anytime soon. This project is part of numerous collective efforts to revitalize K Street.
There is also an inherent rail bias. People use trains and rail because it's fairly certain where it is going, not the case with rubber wheels.
Haha...definitely a read-O, thanks for the correction...
I agree, hope that's a typo...the boss frowns on drinking artisan cocktails during those hours...
Good piece Bill. I look forward to working with the MBA and central city stakeholders to create a solution that helps create the type of urban environment in midtown and downtown.
Just to clarify something as well. USA Hospitality was asked to respond with the three requirements back in August and the Council directed staff to release an RFQ in 90 days if the following did not occur. The three issues have not been addressed and it's time to release the RFQ. USA Hospitality can continue to work with the city, however it is time to allow other qualified developers/development teams to chime in on the future of these key sites in the JKL Corridor.
