I would like to know if I should stand and "fight" or run away till another day. The neighbor said he was being fined $500.00. because he had 10 chickens.

Silkies are an adorable breed of chickens.
We always had fresh eggs growing up in Roseville. Different breeds produce different sizes, colors and frequency of eggs so it's good to have more than one type.
Fresh eggs taste so much better than store bought.

If raised with people, chickens can be very cuddly. A teenaged chicken appeared on my doorstep one year. She was so sweet and friendly! She loved to sit on my head. She would roost on my night stand and would come cuddle on my chest in the morning. She now lives with a bunch of chickens on a nice lady's farm.

Locally grown? where? The city is currently in the process of annexing tens of thousand of acres of some of the most fertile farmland in the world so they can build more stucco shi*t box tract houses and strip malls for the Tsakopoulos mob.

Urban sprawl is gobbling up all of the local farms. Meanwhile the self proclaimed environmentalist like City Councilman Ray Tretheway, the Sierra Club and the Environmental Council doze off into a deep slumber.

We need to stop using pesticides on our lawns and in our gardens and buy organic as much as possible and support the Farmers markets and the Natural Food Co-ops. Of course organic is more costly initially, but in the bigger picture less so. The cost of buying organic is prohibitive for the economically disadvantaged and poverty is widening its terrain.
