Conversation about: The "Journey" was on at Raley Field

Mr Mason, Where are you getting your facts from? Journey didn't just become an International sensation. They sold more albums in Asia from 1978 to 1984 than they have from that time forward through today, including Revelation. Only 760,000 copies of Revelation have been sold. Compared to over 50 million albums with the voice of the man you say has the gayish falsetto who was also their singer when the band was headlining shows at the Rosebowl in front of 100,000 fans You also totally skip over the Steve Augeri and JSS contributon to the band despite the 2006 tour ranking higher than the 2009 tour according to Billboard and many of those shows in 2006 where in Europe by the way. Least you forget, Steve Augeri had an A/C hit just like Arnel did with the band. However when was the the last time the band had a real Top 40 hit? Looks like the last time that happened their singer was Steve Perry and they had over a dozen top 40 hits to boot. The Perry led band also had three top 20 hits in Europe (DSB, Who's crying now and Faithfully) How many Top 20 hits in Europe under Arnel? Zero. And who got a nice chunk of writing royalties from Revelation? It sure wasn't Arnel but yet again the man with the girly voice as you see it. Arnel is a great singer but to try to elevate his status by disminishng the role of Perry will get you no where. To say no one knows who Perry is is another statement without fact. Perry has multiplatinum and gold solo records and 4 Top 20 hits by himself. The first name DJ's and media types mention when talking about Journey is Steve Perry. Arnel's story is a wonderful tale that can provide inspiration but fans ike you provide him quite a disservice. I'm not trying to downplay Arnel's contribution this last year but even he would say that he is paying homage to the legacy of Journey by having this opportunity to step into HIS Idol's shoes. I've actually seen Journey with Perry, SA, JSS and AP. I've also bought all their albums and supported every member but it doesn't change my perception of which members Journey's most famous line up consisted of. One last thing, by using terms such as girlish, gayish, etc. to describe Perry, you have made yourself appear as bad as the racist, homophobic haters who called Arnel a dog eater. This limits your credibility dramitically.
