NBA Commissioner David Stern issued the following statement, "Kobe Bryant's comment during the Spurs game was offensive and inexcusable. While I'm fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated. Accordingly, I have fined Kobe $100,000. University of California-Davis officials say doctoral student Starry Sprenkle along with her 20 month year old daughter and husband are among those missing in the wake of the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.
