The California Auto Museum is promoting the idea of making the project more of a Balboa Park or Golden Gate Park development with mor cultural amenities than is currently slated. It would be more effective in making the Riverfront accessibe to the public than housing and office construction, plus it would enliven the area more in the evenings with Museums and parks that could bring in live concerts, party venues, etc. Currently, the Military Museum, the Auto Museum and a new Natural History Museum are looking for a permanent home. Combined with the proximity of Crocker Art Museum and the Railroad Museum, this could be a rich, vibrant area with some modifications.
