President Obama supported National Adoption Month and National Adoption Day by issuing a Presidential Proclamation in 2009 (just as President Bush had for 8 years). In addition, President Obama's Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, hosted an event on National Adoption Day at the HHS building in Washington, D.C. to honor and celebrate all the parents adopting children from foster care on National Adoption Day and throughout the year, and included on the stage with her one of the families that had adopted on National Adoption Day at the D.C. Adoption of the hundreds of thousands of waiting children in this country is a non-partisan cause that is supported by everyone across the political spectrum in this country. Also, I don't know where you get your information, but Planned Parenthood is not a funder of National Adoption Day.
