Duncan hunter (R-CA) enacted by President Bush. Well it’s insignificant now, because the original text of the law was for two fences to be constructed, with a thousand feet in between of no-mans-land for the fast movement of Border Patrol agents, to arrest and detain illegal border crossers. However, the American public was cheated the same year by the Democrats who cut funding. That's why we only have a single fence today. Sen. Harry Reid led the change to emasculate any chance of stopping criminals and the never ceasing illegal aliens tracking here. We spend billions of dollars in foreign lands defending their people, but we are always short changed (even though we are paying the bills.) The second fence was a facsimile of a prison chain link, complete with razor wire at the highest point. Instead we have one extended length of fencing and in many places just old rusty wire. Illegal alien smugglers and drug cartel mules, slinking through thousands of open area acres with nothing but concrete vehicle barriers. Arizona is not the—ONLY—border state in dire financial straights, from its economy being devastated by the invasion. California—the Refuge State for millions of impoverished foreign nationals, is being silently screened by the Liberal majority in Sacramento. They have allowed the life-blood of taxpayers being divested of billions in taxes to supplement welfare entitlements for these people. President Obama has finally followed through with the majority of America's demand for the National Guard to be deployed along the dangerous stretches in Arizona. But as Sen. John McCain of Arizona has expressed it's not enough and they are only there for surveillance. Hopefully this small contingent of federal troops will reduce the heinous criminal activity and stem the daily illegal immigrants swarming across the undermanned border regions.
