Tonight's contest between the Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets marks the first-ever “Kings for the Community Night,” as over 600 tickets to the game were donated by Kings players and the team’s basketball operations staff for local youth and special groups to enjoy the NBA experience. Young patients at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Sacramento received a King-sized holiday surprise Sunday afternoon from some special guests. Kings players DeMarcus Cousins, Jason Thompson, Carl Landry and Luther Head, Kings mascot Slamson, members of the Sacramento Kings Dance Team, Regional Vice President of Wells Fargo and Kings Ambassador Chevo Ramirez and Wells Fargo Vice President of Marketing Rick Cwynar teamed up to visit children and families at the Shriners Hospital for Children and host a Kings Pizza Party. The Sacramento Kings are inviting all Kings super fans to Round Table Pizza located at 3290 Arena Blvd. at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, for a Kings Super Fan Photo Shoot. To participate, super fans must visibly show their Kings spirit in three or more ways which can include wearing lots of purple, Kings-branded attire, Kings jerseys, foam fingers, Kings hats, beads, purple wigs or any other creative ways to show they are truly Kings super fans. Auditions will be open to the public and will take place on the Cal Expo Main Stage. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. and auditions will begin at approximately 5 p.m. All candidates are encouraged to visit Kings.com for additional information. Sacramento Kings forward Francisco Garcia, a native of the Dominican Republic, is leading an effort by Kings players to assist his neighboring country of Haiti by donating money on behalf of everyone in attendance at the Kings versus San Antonio Spurs game on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at ARCO Arena. “I’m deeply saddened by all the destruction in my neighboring country of Haiti, and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy,” Garcia said. “I’m hopeful our donation around the Spurs game will help make a positive difference in the lives of everyone in Haiti as they work toward recovery.” Garcia is donating $1 to the American Red Cross for everyone in attendance at the game,
The Sacramento Kings introduced an exciting new program to benefit high schools in the greater Sacramento area Friday, January 22.
